🦍 Meet four gorillas giving us all hope! Once orphaned by poachers, Isangi, Lulingu, Mapendo, and Ndjingala got a second chance thanks to @gracegorillas. Now they are back in the wild. 🌿 Against all odds, they have returned to the wilds of the Democratic Republic of the Congo within @virunganationalpark. This is the first time gorillas have been rewilded from GRACE, the world’s only sanctuary for Eastern Lowland Gorillas. Since their release, the population of these Critically Endangered apes within Virunga has increased by a game-changing 50%. 🇨🇩 This is a beautiful story of survival, one that is far from over, thanks to the local Congolese communities who have driven this success. Together GRACE Gorillas, Virunga National Park, @gorilladoctors, and @rewild are thrilled to share this incredible success.
