Urban 🌳 oasis - this summer, we visited Milan during a heatwave, yet it was noticeable cooler around the vertical forest 😌 ℹ️ Il Bosco Verticale by @stefanoboeriarchitetti was inaugurated in October 2014 consists of two towers of 80 and 112 meters. 🌳 hosting 480 large and medium trees, 300 small trees, 11,000 perennial and covering plants, and 5,000 shrubs. The equivalent - over an urban surface of 1,500 m2 – of 20,000 m2 of forest and undergrowth.🤯 💡 The Vertical Forest helps to build a microclimate and to filter fine particles contained in the urban environment. The diversity of plants helps to develop the microclimate, which produces humidity, absorbs CO2 and particles, produces oxygen, and protects against radiation and noise pollution. Recently, the second Dutch 🌳 tower was opened in Utrecht, but i believe there's a need for more!! On this warm autumn day, I am sharing this architectural summer memory from Ljubljana 🇸🇮 ℹ️Ljubljana Mosque / Muslimanski kulturni Center, designed by Bevk Perović arhitekti, was completed in 2020. "The programme of the centre consists of a religious school building, a cultural and office programme, an apartment building for the employees of the community, a restaurant, as well as the mosque, the first one to be built in Slovenia, all of them supported by car parking in the basement." ✨️it is conceived as a steel structure – a 32/32/24 metre box constructed of 1-meter (45cm) deep and only 2 (8cm) centimetre thick steel latticework, filled with white concrete on the lower part, and transparent glass on the upper part, allowing for the sun to flood the interior space. Is it too late to share my Ron Mueck visit @museumvoorlinden ? 😁 The exposition is no longer there, but luckily we still have the photos 😇 I found was surreal to walk between the larger than life sculptures in the largest retrospective of Ron Mueck ever! Wonderwoods in 360° 👀 So good to see the progress on this complex consisting of 2 towers. ℹ️ Stefano Boeri Architetti’s Tower is defined by angular forms and repeating horizontal lines, whereas MVSA Architects’ tower features smoothly curving corners and a vertical rhythm. Both towers share abundant green elements and a clear structure of terrace-like, stepped levels, clearly articulating the various aspects of the program – offices, residential and public and commercial spaces – over a combined total floor space of 65,000 m2. Healthy urbanism - Apart from apartments and offices Wonderwoods will house healthy restaurants, shops, a fitness area, education facilities, bike parking places and a public leisure space and presents itself as the new healthy centre of Utrecht. ✨Summer memories 🇭🇷 this milky-moody-foggy-weather has got me missing the warmth of the sun, so here's a architectural throwback to last summer when we spend some days at the Rovinj coast and had to take a look inside this cool hotel 👀😁 I do miss exploring on my flip-flops 🩳😆🤳🏻 ℹ️Lone Hotel, the first design hotel in Croatia, was designed and constructed by the architects from studio 3LHD . In addition to the overall architecture, the interiors and the furniture were designed and chosen especially for the hotel in order to achieve a distinct and recognizable identity. 🏨Opened in 2011, the hotel has 236 rooms and 12 suites. 16 rooms offer an exclusive experience of a private massage pool built in the room's terrace. All the rooms are suitable for all types of guests. Rooms with king-size beds, twin beds, or connected rooms are suitable for families. 🍴 The hotel has three restaurants "L", "ON" and "E", two bars, a jazz club and a mini club. Happy winter time 🕑 It was good to get an extra hour of sleep 😆💤So good morning Sunday ☕☀️🍂 with this Abstract ASML office angle of the latest addition to the ASML campus. Swipe to see more of the building ↔️ ℹ️ Designed by Sweco (was JHK ) + the ArchiTech Company and opened in 2023. Building 3 houses approximately 2,400 R&D employees in a tight space of 28,500 m² while maintaining high quality. ♻️ the building is awarded a BREEAM Excellent label and the WELL Platinum certificate. 🏗The parametrically designed facade minimises the entry of sunlight while at the same time allowing daylight to penetrate deep into the space. Weekend 🍂 throwback to Milanese sunny summer days 🇮🇹 : Il Dritto (the straight one) ℹ️Allianz Tower, also known as Isozaki Tower, is a fifty-floor, 209-metre-tall skyscraper designed by Japanese architect Arata Isozaki and Italian architect Andrea Maffei. 💡It's inspired by the idea of a skyscraper without a limit: an endless tower 💎 🤓Fun fact, the tower consists of stacked modules of 6 office floors. "The facade of the module is composed by a triple glass unit slightly curved to outside. The vertical succession of rounded forms create a feeling of slight vibration of the volume of the building as it rises upward." Sculptural curves at Quai de la Graille, Grenoble 🇫🇷 ℹ️ Designed by @ecdmarchitectes 3 apartment buildings were completed in 2013. 2 with curved balconies and 1 with straight lines. The curved ones caught my attention on that morning when the sun came out ✨ "Situated on the peninsula, limited by the rivers « Isère »and « Drac » and the first foothills of the Alps, the island has a narrow relationship with the large geography of Grenoble" 6️⃣What's wonderful about this project is there are many apartment towers surrounding a big garden with playgrounds. And they all have their distinct architectural style! A must visit when you're visiting! And I can recommend the walk along the river back to the city center.
