Rotterdam's latest architectural marvel is Portlantis, a contemporary experience about the Port of Rotterdam. ℹ️What's unique about this building is that it's integral designed around the story of the exhibition: the past, present, and future of the port of Rotterdam. The design is strong, bold yet welcoming. Inside, you can follow your own path through the exhibition spaces, interactive VR and AR spaces, and even follow workshops. The top floor hosts a restaurant, and the rooftop is publicly accessible, giving new views on the sea and harbor. @mvrdv designed the building, while @kossmanndejong designed the flow and experience. ♻️the building is energy-neutral, and large parts of the structure are recycled materials. The whole structure is demountable, and parts can be reused. ⚡️ power is provided by 266 solar panels and its own windmill.
