The @greatstartheater was ground zero for me. In 1981 my Grandfather took me to see Shao Lin Temple, Jet Li’s first film, and I was smitten. I wanted to learn Kung Fu immediately and so a few years later I would begin my Kung fu journey enrolling in the Wen Wu School on Martial Arts under Master YC Chiang. I would later return to the Great Star Theater in high school to watch all the latest Hong Kong action films after training Wushu at the Chinatown YMCA not far away on Sacramento street. So I am honored to be celebrating The Great Star Theater’s Centennial celebration on April 5th. I will be having a discussion with the legendary @fongtorres so come on out and celebrate with us!
