A great song’s foundation is its lyrics and melody. If those are solid, it can stand the test of time and work in almost any style. But if those are not there, no amount of rearranging can save it 😅 Take “Love Rival Beethoven”for example from my first album. 30 years later, and every version since, has always felt a little… off? 😂 But honestly, those “off” moments are where so much learning happened.
