Rotterdam's latest architectural marvel is Portlantis, a contemporary experience about the Port of Rotterdam. ℹ️What's unique about this building is that it's integral designed around the story of the exhibition: the past, present, and future of the port of Rotterdam. The design is strong, bold yet welcoming. Inside, you can follow your own path through the exhibition spaces, interactive VR and AR spaces, and even follow workshops. The top floor hosts a restaurant, and the rooftop is publicly accessible, giving new views on the sea and harbor. @mvrdv designed the building, while @kossmanndejong designed the flow and experience. ♻️the building is energy-neutral, and large parts of the structure are recycled materials. The whole structure is demountable, and parts can be reused. ⚡️ power is provided by 266 solar panels and its own windmill. Let's start this week with cool architecture with a pulse - the latest addition to the South-Axis in Amsterdam is "The Pulse of Amsterdam" ℹ️ The multifunctional complex consists of 2 towers, where this is the 24 storey office tower designed by @mvsa_architects aiming for BREEAM Outstanding and WELL platinum certification. I took this photo on the 10th floor (35m) rooftop garden connecting both towers, part of the 40% green on top and around this project. Great initiative by @edgetechnologies & @vormholding ♻️The futuristic office tower is built with the highest degree of sustainability in mind. Its façade, composed of recycled PET bottles, ingeniously incorporates solar panels on top of its angled windows. The shape of the windows reduces the effects of solar heat and wind.
