Part of what this series reflects on is to be present in your child's inner world. It shows how young people often hide their struggles from adults out of fear, shame, or a belief that adults won’t understand. For us parents, this is a wake-up call: being physically present is not enough. It’s about emotionally tuning in asking questions without judgment, listening with empathy, and creating a space where kids feel safe to speak up. The lesson I learned from this is DO NOT assume your child is “fine” just because they aren’t speaking up. Pay attention to subtle cues. Initiate meaningful conversations regularly.
