Cartier Official
In a grand reveal at the #MetGala, a necklace from the new #CartierHighJewelry collection makes its debut, worn by @halleberry. Hidden amongst 767 kite-, lozenge- and triangle-cut diamonds accented with onyx, an elusive snow leopard’s face, practically invisible, makes a rare and mysterious appearance.

Love you Halle but Cartier Shame on you. You need to be canceled for what you did to Diljit.

Shameful how you agreed to lend the historical necklace to some uncultured person , and still didn't allowed diljit to wear it while it belonged to "his own" history

A few years ago, Cartier loaned Emma Chamberlain a necklace that once belonged to an Indian Maharaja—a piece with a deeply colonial backstory. Now, there’s quiet hesitation about letting Diljit Dosanjh wear it. Why? Because the conversation it would spark around ownership, reparations, and colonial legacy would be too loud to ignore. Imagine being Cartier: profiting more from that one Maharaja’s commission than almost any other in their history, only for that same piece to “mysteriously” disappear during colonial rule—only to “miraculously” resurface decades later in a second-hand jewelry shop, and then be “restored” to Cartier. It all sounds a little too convenient, doesn’t it? This is the pattern: European fashion houses—once artisanal workshops turned global empires—love to drape themselves in regality while sidestepping the colonial roots of their collections. There’s an obsession with prestige, heritage, and craft, yet a refusal to confront how much of that legacy was built on exploitation, plunder, and power imbalance. Letting a modern South Asian icon like Diljit wear that necklace would flip the narrative—and maybe that’s exactly why they’re scared.

Why is Diljeet denied from the maharaja Bhupinder singh necklace which is a necklace of a Indian panjabi king stolen why British but a white women was allowed to wear it 2 years ago. Isn't it racist.

@cartier why did you deny diljit?

Why did Cartier deny Diljit Dosanjh the opportunity to wear a heritage necklace at the MET Gala, while allowing Emma Chamberlain to wear it in previous years — especially considering its cultural origin?

Came for the comments and was not disappointed.

You couldn't give a stolen necklace to the person who is of the people from whom you stole it from - but you'll let an influencer (EC) wear the choker cuz that makes sense right? Huge missed opportunity for Cartier and for Cartier to tap into the very market from which it gained so much inspiration and stolen treasures - SHAME
