I was like, you can abuse me, but you can’t abuse the dog. And I agreed to protect him, so I left in the middle of the night. And we’ve been on so many adventures since. Living in the city afterwards and traveling the country together, hopping freight trains. I call him my primary partner.”

She’s pretty stubborn – she tells us where to walk. If we’re on Court Street, her best friend lives there, and she drags us to their apartment. She’s a big coffee shop girl – her favorite spot’s Octavia Coffee. They give her treats, so she pulls us there every morning on our walk. She’s our middle cushion when we wake up every morning. I was worried that she was going to be really yappy, but honestly, she’s the most chill dog. The most mischievous thing she’s ever done was she got into a burrito bowl once. The best thing about having a dog is when you have a bad day and you walk through the door, and your dog acts like, I thought I was never gonna see you again, and I’m so happy that you’re back. We don’t deserve dogs. I got her right before I got married, so she’s like our child, and I’ve decided she’s going to live forever.”
