This is Roger. He was initially rescued from an LA shelter, but began collapsing once in his foster home. He spent 3 nights in the ER, was diagnosed with a heart murmur and other rhythmic irregularities, and was sent home with a life expectancy of just a few months. At 12 years old, putting him through surgery just seemed like too much. Many humans spoil their dogs as much as possible when given such news, so one day Roger was fed a few bites of pizza. His whole demeanor immediately changed, so much so that his doctor no longer believes a heart surgery is even necessary. Roger is absolutely chillin with just the medication he’s on... and maybe the occasional bite of pizza ❤️🩹 Thanks to your recent support of our ‘tell your dog i said hi’ merch, @1510foundation was able to pay for all of Roger’s medical care 🤗

My childhood dog wasn’t doing well and we were told we should consider putting her down. As a sad gift, we gave her steak for dinner. She lived another 4 years ♥️

Poms are built different. I rescued one as a hospice foster, estimated week to live. Picked up some hamburger from the grocery store with a “here for a good time not a long time” attitude. Dude ended up thriving for another year

In 2019 our dog got sepsis from a blockage removal surgery. I pushed food thru a tube into his stomach for almost a month. He is a very food driven dog but the vet said he needs a special diet for his intestines to recover. I guess at 4 weeks they had recovered. At about 4 weeks I thought this is close to the end because he was so miserable. I decided to let him eat people food and if that’s the end at least he will be happy. He got a new will to live with his first cheeseburger. He turns 15 this year and still going decently strong for his age.
