Nature Is Metal
Brought Down by Bloodline 📽 by @itsmepodda 📍 Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya Four lionesses. One full-grown Cape buffalo. The odds weren’t in their favor, but that’s never stopped them before. This wasn’t a frenzied free-for-all- this was choreography soaked in blood. Each lioness knew her role: distract, flank, anchor, kill. When the dust settled, a 1,500 lb tank was no longer standing. This is golden hour in the Mara. Light for us, dinnertime for them. The lioness in frame has already started the feast-face stained red, paws planted in victory. Her sisters circle nearby, patience held in check by the raw scent of muscle and adrenaline still in the air. Cape buffalo don’t go down easy. They kick, gore, trample - and they’ve got the bodies to back it up. As the buffalo shudders one last time, a black cloud of flies explodes around it - startled mid-feast by the death throes of their host. Even a juggernaut eventually runs out of gas. That’s when nature sends in the team that doesn’t quit, doesn’t hesitate, and doesn’t lose. #natureismetal #keepnaturemetal - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nature Is Metal is powered by you! Great post. I love seeing this suffocation-kill technique exhibited by lions as it seems like they are one of the very few predators to utilize it. And only the most skilled and experienced lions and lionesses are able to pull it off

One photo from a landscape photography travel destination followed by one photo from Denmark my home country. Once it clicked and I figured I could probably get something along the same lines as what I’ve captured out there in world, whether it’s the same conditions, same subject, same technique or same composition, it became soooo much more fun to shoot at home. It really did change my photography forever! No we still don’t have mountains, epic waterfalls, cracking glaciers, puffins, whales and big deserts, but we have so many other things. Check out my latest video on YouTube where I teach you to photograph locally. AND if you want to dig even further into local landscape photography be sure to get me and @nigel.danson course on Mastering Local Landscape Photography. In this 4+ hour and 13 video course we’ll be teaching you how to find great locations, how to use them optimally, what strategies to use to optimise your chance of getting great photos, what to do on location, how to compose, edit and print what you capture, what apps to use and much more! This ENTIRE course can be yours for only $99! Check it out via the link in my bio 🤓
