What a mood party we had in Tuscany! We had so many days with heavy clouds, thunder and downpours. I captured this photo as a huge shelf cloud / front moved in. You just gotta loooove that drama and mood! 🤤 In this case I use the lollipop trees as my subject and anchor point and bring in a ton of the sky and negative space to make the trees look even smaller in this big dramatic world!If you struggle with composition like this, be sure to get my ebook on composition, minimal text, tons of examples and one of the chapters is all about how to benefit from and use negative space. When the forest floors bloom with wild garlic the certain smell is to be enjoyed. You probably either hate it or love it, I’m of the latter! Wild garlic is absolutely gorgeous and transforms the forests where it is present. Here is a collection of such photos I’ve captured over the years! A collection of photos from my first landscape photography trip to the UK. What a journey! I fell absolutely in love with Britain and over the years it’s become one of my favourite places on earth to photograph! We had such great light and interesting conditions and to this day I’ve still captured some of my all-time favourite and defining photos during this trip! This year’s trip to Tuscany has without a doubt been the most productive and mind-blowing ever! 🤯 I’m also delighted that both our groups got to experience fog at this famous location. We actually got both the best and second best conditions @samuelsciclunaphotography and I have ever seen here! This photo is a blue hour dream photo. I absolutely love the atmosphere and how the fog makes the hills look like islands in the sky. The articulated light of the buildings helps emphasise the time of day and makes for a great colour contrast to the blues. Just like the pre-dawn warm sky adds a beautiful colour contrast to the cold landscape. Art! I have both a chapter on blue hour and one on colour and how you can use it in your landscape photography in my ebook ‘Landscape Light’. Another two workshops in Tuscany are done, two amazing groups who got amazing conditions! Everything from epic clouds to atmospheric mornings. Here is a brand new drone photo from a cool line of cypress trees on a backlit morning. I just love the shadows, lines and background atmosphere.
