New York Times Travel

Travelers from the U.S., Canada and most European countries who do not require visas to enter the United Kingdom will now need to apply for digital authorization in order to visit or, in some cases, transit through the country. The electronic travel authorization, called ETA and linked to a traveler’s passport, lasts two years. The requirement was introduced in late 2023 for nationals of Qatar, Saudi Arabia and four other Gulf nations and now extends to all visa-exempt travelers visiting the United Kingdom, including those from the EU. The British Home Office said it’s part of a mission to “deliver a more streamlined, digital immigration system” that will enhance border security. We explain more about the process to apply at the link in bio. Photo by @sambush_

I love that it’s for “visa exempt” countries and “it is not a visa” but it totally is a visa.

I paid this when I visited the UK in February. Download the app, upload a photo of your passport, take a screenshot of your face with your phone, and fill out in info. Pretty simple for me, but I have to imagine it’s a pain in the butt for older folks less technologically inclined.

Morning Mist 🦘🌫️ What a treat it was to wake up early & find kangaroos hopping around outside my room in a beautiful low fog. The peaceful sounds of birds, the smell of fresh air and endless sights of Australian wildlife roaming around the property made this my favorite hotel stay while visiting New South Wales last month. Truly a sunrise I’ll remember forever...and some of my new favorite photos! 📸 Swipe through and enjoy some new work captured on my @SonyAlpha a1 ii with the 70-200mm GM ii. Using a telephone lens is crucial for this kind of nature photography, so I’m glad I had that with me. I tried to focus on all the details of this dreamy location. Let me know what you think of the photos. ✍🏼 📍 Where: @TheOaksRanch Mossy Point, NSW Australia 🇦🇺 #wildlifephotography #alphacollective #sonypartner #sonyalpha #wildlifeofaustralia

In my latest video I make a deep dive into color theory! I have spend so much time on making this video and I hope you’ll enjoy it! Check it out when you get time. Here is a collection of some of the photos I talk about in the video. Color and light is also two sides of the same coin, color is light and light is color. I share all my knowledge about how to use light in landscape photography in my newly released and third ebook ‘Landscape Light’. It is 251 pages and covers the types of light, the light you can encounter all throughout the day, colour and the impact of post-processing are all themes I cover throughout the ebook. If you struggle with light in landscape photography, this ebook is for you! A massive thank you to all of you who have already got this ebook! It means a ton and it makes me able to keep doing what I love 💛📸
