Nature Is Metal
Enough To Go Around 📽 by @russ_wildlife Vultures overtake a buffalo carcass after the previous owners have moved on Driven by their evolutionary adaptations as scavengers, vultures feed on carrion to fulfill their ecological role as nature’s cleanup crew, efficiently assisting the ecosystem in reclaiming animal carcasses back to their base nutrients. Their ability to consume rotten meat without illness stems from highly acidic stomachs, with pH levels as low as 1, which destroy harmful bacteria and toxins like those that cause botulism or anthrax. Their immune systems are also uniquely robust, neutralizing pathogens that would sicken other animals, and their keen sense of smell allows them to detect ethyl mercaptan, a gas produced during early decomposition, allowing them to literally follow their nose to fresh carcasses. ` Vultures are absolutely vital to their ecosystems, preventing the spread of disease by rapidly consuming decaying remains that could otherwise harbor pathogens, thus maintaining environmental health and supporting nutrient cycling. Without vultures, carcasses would linger, increasing disease risk and disrupting the balance of ecosystems, as seen in regions where vulture populations have declined due to poisoning or habitat loss. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nature Is Metal is powered by you! Another two workshops in Tuscany are done, two amazing groups who got amazing conditions! Everything from epic clouds to atmospheric mornings. Here is a brand new drone photo from a cool line of cypress trees on a backlit morning. I just love the shadows, lines and background atmosphere. A very graphical photo 🤩 One of the chapters in my ebook ‘Landscape Light’ is all about backlighting and how you can use it in your landscape photography. The ebook is 251 pages making it my most comprehensive ebook to date! The minimal text and tons of examples makes it easy to read though! Not to mention I have added extensive Exif data to all the photos! If you still haven’t got it there is a link in my bio. Happy learning 🤓
