Balinese beach ceremonies come in all shapes and sizes, varying greatly in purpose and intensity... In the first shot, priests gather at sunset to burn a Barong costume - a ritual believed to release its spirit before a new one is made. In the second, a group of women fall into a trance during the Melasti ceremony, a mass purification where devotees cleanse themselves in the sea before Nyepi, Bali’s Day of Silence 🙏🏼🔮
