For decades, scientists and surgeons around the world have been trying to solve the organ donor crisis. The answer could be rolling in the mud: pigs. Biotech firm eGenesis stands at the forefront of a major revolution in xenotransplantation—an exceedingly advanced scientific technique in which animal matter is transferred into human patients. Powered by advances in gene editing and immunosuppressive medicine, the company is designing, cloning, and raising pigs whose kidneys can be used in human transplant patients without the risk of acute and immediate rejection. It could have major implications for the thousands of sick patients who wait every year for a new kidney. Already, the results have been astonishing: a progression from trial transplants on primates to transplant surgery on brain-dead human recipients—and finally, last March, in a development that made global headlines, to a transplant into a living human recipient. As if being grown to give meat was not enough suffering. Animals are not supposed to be used, our abuse must stop.

Animals are here WITH us. Not FOR us. This is not a celebratory moment.

I actually can't hate this more. So typical of the human race to take another life so selfishly to save their own. Rather than making changes to avoid requiring a kidney transplant in the first place. Why don't we put this research money into the cancer causing agents that are shoved into the foods we eat daily? This is disgusting.

Jesus Christ. The picture looks caring and sweet. The message is grotesque.

We are meant to be evolving to remove animals from laboratories… not creating more situations to imprison them to a life of misery. 😢

Everyone saying this is animal abuse maybe it is. People are dying by the thousands every single year due to kidney disease. There is no one cause. My dad almost died from kidney disease and the only reason he lived is because a post blew up on social media and somebody decided to transplant for him. Animals are used in much worse ways than this. If you are going to be upset about animal abuse use your time somewhere more productive.

Crazy to see how many people are crying abt this being bad. But then the moment they need a kidney transplant the same people would be first in line to get this

I am so happy to see that I wasn’t the only one thinking this is so messed up for the poor animals

Imagine being upset at the idea of killing a few pigs to save human lives but fine with killing millions of pigs for taste pleasure. Human morality will always fascinate me.

Can we focus on a healthy population to begin with? Free food, housing, healthcare, and education for starters.

The blue hour also known as twilight is famous for the soft blue light and purple hues. For landscape photography it’s amazing, but when you combine it with artificial light from buildings or light trails from cars it’s superb! Here’s a huge collection of blue hour photos I’ve taken over the years. In my newly released ebook all about light in landscape photography, I have an entire chapter about the blue hour and how to benefit from the light at that time of the day. The ebook is 251 pages making it my most comprehensive ebook to date! The minimal text and tons of examples makes it easy to read though! Not to mention I have added extensive Exif data to all the photos! If you still haven’t got it there is a link in my bio. Happy learning 🤓 Also, again, I must say a massive thank you to all who have already got my new ebook. Thank you! 🙏

it’s wildflower season in Washington State! 🌼 but these balsamroot blooms won’t last much longer. I suggest getting up into the mountains this week if you want to see them ⚠️ if you visit, please STAY ON THE TRAIL and don’t pick the wildflowers. I saw so many people trampling & sitting on the flowers, and I think it’s because they don’t understand that it takes these plants years to grow & mature. We need to protect them if we want to enjoy their beautiful blooms every year. I was able to catch all these videos plus a bunch of beautiful photos without going off trail once. Also, there are tons of rattlesnakes living in the meadows so I don’t recommend going off trail for that reason alone 👀🐍 #washingtonstate #washingtonhikes #wildflowerhike | wildflower hike in washington | washington wildflowers | spring hiking in washington state
