Finland has topped the World Happiness Report for the past eight years, a merit largely attributed to the Nordic welfare state, trust in the government, and public policies like free education and universal health care. The writer Britta Lokting traveled there to see whether she could bring happiness back to America. “As it turns out, happiness is a luxury in America — a privilege, even,” Lokting wrote. During Lokting’s trip, “happiness came in waves and troughs over the next few days.” Read how she tried to recreate the happiest moments of this trip in New York, at the link in our bio. Let's import the welfare state, trust in government, and public policies like free education and universal healthcare first and see if that helps before we start birdwatching and talking to trees. But that's just me, idk.

A boatload of photos from Iceland where the light plays a significant role in the photo. Returning to different locations in different conditions is always great fun and by doing so you’ll get a good understanding of how much different types of light can change the expression of the photo! I share all my knowledge about how to use light in landscape photography in my newly released and third ebook ‘Landscape Light’. It is 251 pages and covers the types of light, the light you can encounter all throughout the day, colour and the impact of post-processing are all themes I cover throughout the ebook. If you struggle with light in landscape photography, this ebook is for you!
