Just got back about 10 rolls of film scans and it feels like they’re burning in my hands so I thought I’d share one… The funny thing about this image is the fact that we had just crossed the Vatnajökull Glacier - and I swear we got considerably worse weather on this little 2-day micro mission to Þórsmörk (Thor’s) Valley. It was the perfect Icelandic gamut of weather conditions - with a little good fortune when @ferdafelagutivist opened a mountain hut early for us to stay the night. For those of you who know riding in Iceland - River crossing is a pretty core, iconic moment because it’s inevitable & genuinely results in numb pedaling on frozen blocks of ice that were once your feet. Anyway… I’m passionate about shooting B&W film in Iceland, it feels like they’re made for each other and I have a bunch more to share soon. Thanks @negativelab for the beautiful scans @kurt.refsnider @wolf_tooth_comp

I came to love the river crossings - while freezing and numb initially, it gave me a heat and energy boost every time just shortly after. Whenever we spotted a river crossing in the distance, we shouted „energy boost coming up!“

Finding my very own Palouse landscapes in Denmark! 😁 Back in the days I always felt that Denmark was boring to photograph because of all the fields. Now I embrace them! When I learned how to approach them and get good photographs in these types of landscapes it suddenly went from something that held me back to a feature! One technique is to benefit from dappled light. Something I talk much more about in my ebook all about light in landscape photography (get it via the link in my bio). Dappled light is just incredible as it literally paints the landscapes with light and adds both depth and dimension!
