Zoologist and photographer Sherif Abdallah made this image of a red palm weevil using a microscope lens. He focused on different parts of the insect and made dozens of separate photographs. Combined, the shots create one sharp, clear picture. “Beneath its destructive reputation, the red palm weevil reveals a mesmerizing complexity—each groove, curve, and texture of its exoskeleton tells a story of adaptation, survival, and destruction,” says Abdallah. A boatload of photos from Iceland where the light plays a significant role in the photo. Returning to different locations in different conditions is always great fun and by doing so you’ll get a good understanding of how much different types of light can change the expression of the photo! I share all my knowledge about how to use light in landscape photography in my newly released and third ebook ‘Landscape Light’. It is 251 pages and covers the types of light, the light you can encounter all throughout the day, colour and the impact of post-processing are all themes I cover throughout the ebook. If you struggle with light in landscape photography, this ebook is for you!
