Nature Is Metal
Luck Be A Coney Tonight 📽 by @vitomaynez06 The crazy thing about this video is that there are people out there who try to capture something like this for years, only to come up short. You can count me as one of those people. This lucky guy points his camera at the window to record the bun and boom - instantly joins an elite group. To me this looks like a juvenile red-tail, but I’ve been wrong about IDs before (about 8 million times) so the other possibility is a red shouldered hawk. Besides some differences in habitat and minor differences in diet, they hunt the same things, although a red tail is more likely to go for something big like a rabbit, which is why I leaned that way. That said, hunting rabbits is not a regular occurrence for either of them, both species hunt smaller prey, and stack calories that way. Voles, mice chippers and squirrels are the bread and butter of these types of hunters, making the capture of this from the living room window just before returning to a spongebob marathon that much rarer. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nature Is Metal is powered by you! My favorite part about this clip is the excitement in his voice once he realized what he just filmed. 😂

Red shouldered hawk. RTHA's have the red coloring across the belly, referred to as belly band. RSHA's have fully red chests, as adults. Red tailed hawks only get their adult red tailfeathers after a couple years.

Was that a Harris eagle o gavilan mixto? I am just wondering because a few days ago me and my family found a injured bird in our backyard, just like this bird. Sadly it passed away, we couldn't save it. Its leg was broken and we thought that an infection could caused its death.😢

Finding my very own Palouse landscapes in Denmark! 😁 Back in the days I always felt that Denmark was boring to photograph because of all the fields. Now I embrace them! When I learned how to approach them and get good photographs in these types of landscapes it suddenly went from something that held me back to a feature! One technique is to benefit from dappled light. Something I talk much more about in my ebook all about light in landscape photography (get it via the link in my bio). Dappled light is just incredible as it literally paints the landscapes with light and adds both depth and dimension!
